Yunes Linares Hired Trump Donor to Recover Money Allegedly Stolen by Javier Duarte

Texas lawyer gave $785,000 to Trump inauguration and campaign committees.

Mexico City, February 14, 2018 – ChedrauiLeaks.org revealed today that the Texas lawyer hired by Veracruz’s current governor Miguel Angel Yunes Linares, to recover money allegedly stolen by Javier Duarte de Ochoa, currently detained in a Mexico City jail, personally contributed $785,000 to two fundraising committees benefitting Donald Trump.

The attorney, named Tony Buzbee, recently filed lawsuits in Houston seeking recovery of millions of pesos in funds former governor Javier Duarte allegedly stole from Veracruz when he was governor.

ChedrauiLeaks.org detailed that the contributions were distributed as follows: $500,000 to the Trump inauguration and a total of $285,000 to the Trump Victory committee, a joint committee of the Trump campaign and Republican Party.

Yunes Linares could easily have become aware Buzbee is a major Trump supporter if he searched online newspapers and other public sources of information as ChedrauiLeaks did. News coverage as recently as January 2018 across the United States and as far as the United Kingdom described many of the details of Buzbee’s political activity after a house guest potentially faced a maximum of life in prison after allegedly destroying some of his art collection.

The contributions made were:

  • $250,000 to Trump Victory on July 28, 2016
  • $500,000 to the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee on Dec. 7, 2016
  • $35,000 to Trump Victory on June 1, 2017
