CEMEX INC. EMPLOYEES POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE PAID $88,000 TO NINETEEN US POLITICIANS WHO WOULD CEMENT TRUMP BORDER WALL, CHEDRAUILEAKS.ORG FINDS IN NEW REPORT

APRIL 19 2017 – The CEMEX Inc. Employees Political Action Committee (“CEMEX PAC”) gave $88,000 during the 2016 US election to nineteen candidates who have supported building a border wall, echoing Donald Trump.

CEMEX PAC is officially connected with CEMEX Inc., part of the US subsidiary of CEMEX SAB de CV.  CEMEX PAC’s Treasurer is the Executive Vice President, Commercial and Public Affairs of CEMEX USA, Frank Craddock.

CEMEX PAC made its contributions throughout 2015 and 2016 for the 2016 US elections.  The candidates’ statements supporting a border wall were in some cases made before and in other cases made after CEMEX PAC gave them money.

One recipient of $10,000 from CEMEX PAC, Jim Spurlino, a Republican from Ohio who lost his primary election, announced, “The nation needs a concrete-strong border to protect patriotic Americans from foreign terrorists and illegal job-snatchers.”

Another recipient of $2,500 from CEMEX PAC, Republican Congressman Doug LaMalfa who won re-election in California, said, “I support President Trump’s swift and decisive action” to as LaMalfa put it, “Start the process of constructing a wall along America’s southern border with Mexico” and “Create detention centers along the southern U.S. border to allow for more efficient and less expensive deportations of undocumented immigrants.”

CEMEX PAC gave 80% of its federal candidate contributions to Republicans according to analysis by the Center for Responsive Politics.  The Republican Party officially supports building a border wall across the entire border with Mexico.

ChedrauiLeaks.org has noticed that the media in Mexico contains very little information about the business dealings and personal assets in the United States of what could be termed Mexican elites, wealthy business people and politicians.  ChedrauiLeaks is not stating that members of the Chedraui family or its businesses had any involvement with CEMEX or CEMEX PAC.
