Now living in Spain: alleged Duarte prestanombres Jose Antonio Bandin and Monica Babayan

Jose Antonio Bandin Ruiz and Monica Babayan, alleged prestanombres for jailed Veracruz governor Javier Duarte, are “now residing in Spain,” their lawyers told a Texas judge in July, 2018.

ChedrauiLeaks has uploaded the Bandin and Babayan lawyers’ statement (click here to view it).

The state of Veracruz is seeking to recover at least $25 million in damages in the lawsuit. Veracruz claims Bandin and Babayan conspired with Javier Duarte to use stolen public funds to buy Houston-area real estate. Bandin and Babayan are named with other defendants in four non-criminal lawsuits that Veracruz filed in Houston-area courtrooms.

Bandin and Babayan deny all the allegations and have asked the courts to dismiss each lawsuit. No decisions have been made on any of the requests for dismissal.

ChedrauiLeaks is not stating that members of the Chedraui family or its businesses had any involvement with any of the defendants, properties, or events described above.
