The Alfredo Chedraui Obeso family purchased its first condo in Vail in 1984 using a Cayman Islands corporation named Wyoming Ltd. Then in 1998 they transferred ownership in this condo to another Cayman Islands entity called Colando Company, and bought an additional condo in the same building. Apparently enjoying Vail and having more family members visiting they purchased a third condo in 2010. In 2014, they combined two of the adjoining condos into one. Technically, they now have two condos. The total value of these established by the Eagle County Tax Assessor in 2016 is $5,617,770.
We know that Wyoming Ltd is linked to Alfredo Chedraui Obeso because in the May 1, 1998 transaction transferring ownership from Wyoming Ltd to Colando Company he signed the document on behalf of Wyoming Ltd:
GRANTOR:
WYOMING LTD., a Cayman Islands corporation
We further know that Colando Company’s President as of 2010 was Alfredo Chedraui Obeso because when assuming a lease for space associated with the purchase of another condo he signed on behalf of Colando:
Additional substantiation that Colando is related to the Chedraui family concerns the address to which the property tax bills are sent:
