Luis Álvarez Morphy and his wife, Gabriela de Álvarez Morphy, were granted title to 1820 Avenida del Mundo #204, in Coronado, California on June 4, 1984. The condo unit, which is in a seaside tower, was assessed at $850,000 for 2017 tax purposes.
On November 18, 2016, Luis Álvarez Morphy Camou and Gabriela Jiménez de Álvarez Morphy transferred ownership of the property to a company that they owned (Perote Investments, LLC), as shown by their declaration in the deed that the transfer “results solely in a change in the method of holding title and the proportional ownership interest of the transferee will remain the same after the transfer”.
We believe that Luis Álvarez Morphy and Gabriela de Álvarez Morphy are the same persons as Luis Álvarez Morphy Camou and Gabriela Jiménez de Álvarez Morphy, based on the fact that the same condo unit was involved in the June 1984 and November 2016 real estate transactions.
Luis Álvarez Morphy Camou was an executive in the Mexican oil industry and as recently as 2010, served on the board of a subsidiary of Grupo Financiero Inbursa, S.A.B. de C.V.
