Fatal Trump Tower fire neighbored unit linked to grandnephew of President Luis Echeverría Álvarez

A fire on Saturday April 7, 2018 made headlines after gutting a condo fifty stories above the ground and killing its owner in Unit 50C at Trump Tower in New York City. Unit 50D next door is currently owned by American Mouse Ltd., a British Virgin Islands company which had as its President the grandnephew of President Luis Echeverría Álvarez when it purchased the unit in 1997.

ChedrauiLeaks previously revealed the link between Leonfelipe Echeverría Andrade, grandnephew of President Luis Echeverría Álvarez and son of former PRI legislator Rodolfo Echeverría Ruiz and the condo unit which we estimated to be worth $3.3 million.

American Mouse remains the owner as of the date this is published.

Trump Tower suffered significant smoke and water damage according to New York press reports. The fire was contained to Unit 50C.

Trump Tower contains condos linked to a number of Mexican business moguls, including Alejandro Ramírez Magaña, Melchor Perusquia Viesca, Andrea Azcárraga, Elías Sacal Cababie, Marcos Sacal Cohen, Juan Francisco Beckmann Vidal, María de Jesús Dora Legorreta Santos and Juan Domingo Beckmann Legorreta. ChedrauiLeaks.org has noticed that the media in Mexico contains very little information about the business dealings and personal assets in the United States of what could be termed Mexican elites, wealthy business people and politicians. ChedrauiLeaks is not stating that members of the Chedraui family or its businesses had any involvement with these condo units.
